The University of Bath claims the top spot in this year’s Times Higher Education league table that ranks universities on the quality of student experience. How does your university fare?
With the huge increase in tuition fees, the majority of UK students are now paying £9,000 a year for their degrees and as such have much higher expectations of their university. Students now rightly expect excellence across all aspects of their university experience and they are taking into account much more than the traditional academic league tables when choosing where they want to study.
The Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey scores universities on a range of criteria from the quality of lecturers and course structure to community atmosphere, the students union and extra curricular activities.
Overall, campus universities seem to fair higher in student satisfaction rankings, but Sheffield, Leeds and Newcastle still managed to make it into the top 10.
