Many graduates leave university feeling a little unsure about what it is that they want to do. There’s a lot of options to choose from and you may feel like you should be looking for a role closely related to your degree subject. However this does not have to be the case.
Entering into a commercial working environment is something that is open to pretty much all graduates regardless of their degree discipline. The numerous and varied roles available in the commercial world of work require transferable skills that graduates are likely to have developed in their time at university.
While there’s not necessarily a specific degree required for these types of roles, we spoke to some of our expert Consultants at Bridgewater Graduates to see what degrees stand out to them as being relevant in each commercial sector.
Even if your degree is not mentioned above, don’t let this deter you from pursuing a commercial career. Think about the kinds of skills developed in your degree and see if they point to an area that you might enjoy.
