Tatton Park hosted their Pretty Muddy Race for Life over the weekend and we’re proud to say our very own Consultant Darcey Hufton-Long was there to get stuck into the 5k muddy obstacle course. She completed the course alongside 6000 other women who were there to show cancer that hell hath no fury like a woman in pink!
Darcey decided to do the race for life as her cousin was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. We’re happy to say that due to the great work that Cancer Research carry out and the amazing care he has received, his cancer has gone and he is now on the long road to recovery.
After completing the 5k course Darcey had this to say, “It was a great feeling to know that we had made a difference, however small, along with hundreds of other women who were all working towards that end goal; obviously getting to the finish line but it also meant we could proudly hand over our sponsorship money! Not only were we doing something worthwhile but it was tons of fun making it through all the different obstacles and getting muddy.”
Darcey ran the race with her best friend and partner’s mum and as a group they managed to raise an astounding £1,680! You can still support Cancer Research by visiting their JustGiving page.
