Another month has flown by here at Bridgewater HQ! We’ve been busy smashing our targets and it’s been a record-breaking month for the business, so it’s celebrations and smiles all round.
As is Bridgewater tradition, we rounded off this fantastic month with our employee awards.
Let’s take a look at August’s winners:
Employee of the Month – Ria Dorward
This time around, our employee-nominated Employee of the Month Award went to Ria, our Senior Business Coordinator. Her continuous commitment to her role, her enthusiasm and willingness to go above and beyond whenever possible all make Ria a deserving winner of this accolade.
Life as a Senior Business Coordinator certainly keeps Ria busy; from supporting the Consultants in the Graduates Division, to overseeing the company’s accounts and stock, every day brings something different. Find out more about what Ria gets up to on a day-to-day basis here.
The award came as a surprise to Ria, but not to her colleagues, who all agree that she has definitely earned it! She says: “It came as a bit of a shock, really! I’m delighted and flattered that my co-workers voted for me, thank you, everyone!”. Her reward will go towards treating herself to a new pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses.

Best of Bridgewater
Graduates Division – Danielle Miller
It’s two in a row for Danielle! Last month saw Danielle win a management-nominated Best of Bridgewater award for her adaptability, resilience and contributions to various projects. This month, the management team felt like she really brought her ‘A game’ and her results back this up nicely!
Danielle has been making placements left, right and centre, and it doesn’t look like she’ll be slowing down anytime soon. She’s also had some great feedback from candidates regarding her professional and consultative service. Well done, Danielle, keep it up!
Professionals Division – James Downing
Along with Danielle, James has achieved some brilliant results this month. The strong relationships he has with our clients and the expertise he shares with his candidates have really come to fruition. August has been a very successful month for James!
In addition to this, James impressed our management team in August by securing a brand new exclusive client agreement which could see the start of a completely new way of working for the whole business. Great work, James!
Business Systems – Jenny Tait
We have another two-in-a-row winner! And well deserved, too; Jenny has been our lifeline during the implementation of new recruitment software in the Bridgewater Head Office. Not only has Jenny overseen the project from start to finish, but she has been there to train and support her colleagues as they learned their way around the new systems.
Despite some hiccups and technical glitches, Jenny kept smiling and is always willing to help out if anyone becomes a little stuck. On behalf of the whole team, thank you for all your assistance (and patience), Jenny!
August’s Social Activity
Every month, we all get together to enjoy some real quality time during our team social. Thanks to our new social scheme, Bridgewater employees are given the opportunity to vote for which activity they’d like to take part in at the end of the month.
For August’s social, the team voted for a scenic bike ride along the River Mersey. Sunburn and sore bums aside, the gang enjoyed cycling together through gorgeous surroundings and in the glorious sunshine. The outing was the perfect way to wind down after a super busy month and to get ready for the Bank Holiday weekend.
Once the team had cycled enough to work up an appetite, we were all treated to a lovely pub lunch eaten al fresco in the surprisingly beautiful weather. During lunch, there was the usual catch ups and laughs, but one of our Consultants, Tom, was also surprised for his birthday! We all had a good sing song (much to his embarrassment) and he was presented with his card and gifts.
Phew. It’s been a mad one! Well done to everyone for such an amazing August. Bring on September!
