 The Essentials

Your CV Represents You

Your CV is often the first thing that a potential employer sees of you and should secure that all important first interview.

Include a Personal Profile

State your career objectives, where your personal strengths lie, what you have achieved so far and how you want to develop in your next role.

An Eye Pleasing CV is Key

Use a font that is easy to read and we recommend size 10/11. Clearly divide your sections with bold or underlined titles.

Reverse Chronological Order

Both your work experience and academic qualifications should appear in reverse chronological order. Employers don’t want to read about that paper round you had when you were 14 first!

Spelling and Grammar

Your spelling and grammar could be the difference between getting an interview or not. Get a friend to read over your CV, a fresh pair of eyes might catch any mistakes you’ve overlooked.

Make it Vacancy Specific

Base the content of your CV on your knowledge, passion and interest of the industry or sector you are applying for a role within.

Bullet Points Are Best

Bullet points break up text and make information concise. They’re much more inviting to read than a lengthy paragraph.

Keep It Updated

Revisit your CV every time you send it. This way you won’t forget to add your most recent achievements.

Structure and Format

Your CV should be properly formatted and user-friendly.
